Valentines Cards with For Always CTMH

I started to make these cards and I was going to make 10 of the same cards with what I had left over from the For Always kit, but of course I varied each one. I really like how they came out.

The only consistent element is the embossed red shape cut from the art booking catalog.

new cards from Balloon Ride.

I love love this paper and the colors and layouts, just everything!

To do this project I also did a new technique which was to take the color ready ribbon and soak it in the sorbet reinker mixed with water and dried to get the  desired shade. I think it makes the coloring more even than by directly applying the ink.

I also hand colored the balloons with the blending pen and regular ink pads, as I found the pens were too dark.

Project For Cricut Craft room Class

This is the project we are going to make in the Cricut Craftroom class. This is made from the Artiste cartridge. We will learn how to load and link your cartridge, choosing elements, manipulating elements, working with layers, welding, cutting and 2 methods for creating linked texts.

With these basics, you should be able to really increase the versalitity of your cricut.

Before the class, it will be helpful if you download the cricut craft room to your laptop and update it with your computer. You can bring your cricut and Artiste if you want to and we will link it here, or you can link it at home and just bring your laptop. You can  also just use my laptop. Because of this, I am going to limit the class to 4 because it is a good deal of hands on, but once you have seen these techniques, it should be easy to do them at home and understand the basics of the craft room.

I will also show how to clean and reuse a cutting mat.

Basic Cricut Class and Cricut Craft Room Class

August 18th (Sunday) I will be having a short basic cricut class and a class on using the cricut craft room, where you will get hands on in the craft room using Art Philosphy or Artisite from Close to my heart.

The Cricut Craft Room enables you to take your cricut crafting to a new level! Learning all these skills will get you ready for the release of the truly revolutionary Artbook cricut cartridge on August 1st. We may have a sneak peak project form this as well.

Mainly, I want to help you understand the basics of the craft room, which will allow you to be more comfortable exploring on your own.

If you are interested in coming, please let me know. Due to the hands on nature of this class, I am going to  limit it to 6 attendees. If there is a good deal of interest, I will schedule another class.
I will give you the "what to bring" details later.

1-2 pm Basics class
2-5 pm Cricut Craft Room Class and sneak peek of Artbook.

This will be at my house and snack provided.
Cost $10 or free with $25 order.
I will be posting a sample soon of the project we will do which will cover the most common skills.

Finished Covers

Here is a picture of the finished covers I made for our outdoor Martha Stewart furniture.
The covers on the original disintegrated after 2 years and MS doesn't sell replacements. I got the sunbrella fabric at JoAnn's for $11.99 per yard (Sunbrella is $25+/yard in catalogs and online). There is a company called Sailrite that has great videos on covering just about everything step by step and very clear videos. The piping was the expensive part, so I did not pipe everything like I would if it was my indoor furniture that needed the totally polished look. It looks nice, but a tad on the shabby chic side. In the catalogs, replacement cushions would have been more than $300. I finished these for $120.00 with the sales at JoAnn's and their great 40-50% off coupons.

Now on to the next project.....

Anniversary Fancy Folds

Shimmer ribbon and bling with For Always

Here are two cards done in the same fancy fold style using my leftover For Always paper. One has the black sparkles and black shimmer ribbon. The other is done with washi tape and the clear sparkles with added red.
I also embossed the stamp in white daisy on the first card
